A great weightloss site, The Daily Plate

Talk about buzzworthy buzz!! This is the greatest site I have found in a long, long time. In my journey to lose the extra pounds that I carry around, I have searched and searched for online aids that are free or at best, not rvery expensive. Guess what!! Until today I just never found anything. But, go to www.thedailyplate.com . It's free to join and they have wonderful tools there such as a FOOD JOURNAL, CALORIE CALCULATOR, and FITNESS LOG. When you fill out the form for calorie calculator, they will tell you just how many calories you can consume to reach your goal. There are tons of encouraging support tools as well, such as a message board, for example. There are people there who are having success. I encourage you to visit this site. You'll be amazed!!!

This is another great site full of women's issues and some super ideas. You wouldn't want to miss this site either.

Earth Hour countdown

Earth Hour is this coming Saturday from 8pm until 9pm. I am hoping that as many of you as can will observe this hour by shutting off your lights. I'm thinking that to light a candle and walk around our block may be something we may do, though............ as many of my neighbors don't know about earth hour they may just think that Mary and Gary have finally plopped over into the "aged land of who knows what".......with their walking around holding candles and such. =)

I didn't learn of Earth Hour until last week, so was unable to organize anything. Next year, however, my neighbors and my world will know about Earth Hour. I hope to have our entire city observing this with me. By then we'll have a more productive recycling program started here. That is in the works and due to begin any day now.

A New Kid In Town

There is indeed a new kid in town. Gary is his name and antiques/collectibles are his game. You see here his website. http://ramblinroseantiques.blogspot.com/ I urge you to visit him. You'll learn a little about antiques while you're at it.

Gary has been dealing in antiques for several years now. He sells on eBay and also has some booths in local antique malls here. Over the years he has educated himself to the place where he can be considered an expert in some areas. Nobody can know everything about everything, and Gary doesn't pretend to do so. However, if you have a question, he certainly can find an answer for you.

Earth Hour

On March 29th at 8PM people all over the world will be turning off their lights for one hour as a way of supporting the efforts to save our planet, go green, lower emissions and decrease our carbon footprint on an individual level. Gary and I have signed up to participate in this. At 8PM on the 29th of March, we too will be turning off our lights for that hour along with the rest of the world.

The site shows that three others in our town have also signed up to participate. I would love to see all of Victoria participate. You can too. Just go to this website, www.earthhour.org sign up and also learn what else we all can do to make a difference.

There are so many things, little things that we all can do. Things that all add up to big things. At www.earthhour.org you can also download a carbon calculator and see just how much big or small your personal carbon footprint is, and also find out how you can change those numbers.

Join Gary and I March 29 for an hour of not using electricity. Last year this even was a Sydney, Austraila event. This year it's a WORLD WIDE even.

Let me know if you're going to participate. Wouldn't it be awesome to have everyone meet at DeLeon plaza and burn candles to form one huge light, while the lights are out all around Victoria?? Awesome!!

My husband Gary has been in the antique and collectible business for several years now. He has several booths at a local antique mall as well as selling on eBay.

We've decided that it's time for him to have an online site of his own where he can offer items for sale. Once he has that up and running I will tell you all about it and give you a link so you can go check it out for yourself.
